The Physician Associations Advisory Council, connects communications directors and outreach professionals in various medical and health associations so they can strategize about how best to communicate the importance of electronic health record adoption and connection to the statewide health information exchange to physicians, healthcare professionals and the general public.

Vision

The committee's vision is to collaborate with one another so that all physicians and healthcare professionals have access to the regional services to adopt electronic health records and get connected to Ohio's health information exchange.

Objectives:

• Use existing e-newsletters and publications within each association to push out important information, announcements and news about educational events.
• Make each other aware of upcoming events where the Ohio Health Information Partnership can provide materials, information and make presentations.
• Use each other's social media to send out messages.
• Create fact sheets on a variety of topics, ranging from the benefits of EHRs, eligibility, Medicare and Medicaid financial incentives, regional partners, the health information exchange, as needed.
• Use Sharepoint to allow regional partners to access information through a secure network and also create a Sharepoint portal for committee members.
• Revamp the existing website so it is more user friendly and provides clearer information.
• Create a speakers' bureau – with physician champions – who can speak on a variety of topics to be used for videos.
• Provide contacts from associations for the creation of videos, vignettes and webinars.
